Introduction
Today, one of my friends told me, “I’m feeling really bored with my everyday routines”. And my colleagues often ask me, “How do you manage to find time for all these things?” I’ve heard many people say, “I’m too busy; I don’t have any free time at all”.
Life as a working mom can be super busy. I have a full-time job, and I’m a mom. I do prepare three times meals per day and do all household chores every single day. Yes, I too get tired sometimes. But something in me keeps pushing me always. So I don’t believe in the saying: “Not Enough Time”. Everybody has!
It depends on how we spend it.
Thoughts leads to creativity
I’m an overthinker. Yes, that’s me, most of the time. People say overthinking can make you stressed and even depressed. But for me, it helped me in many ways. This got me started on my writing journey. That also pushed me to pick up a paintbrush when my thoughts got too overwhelming.
I started to learn that even in the everyday routine, there’s possibility of magic and creativity. In this blog post, I’ll share how I manage to include creativity in my daily life, even with a job and the duties of being a mom.
Starting the day along with my creative escapes
I start my day with a morning fajr prayer. Then it’s a bit of a rush to prepare food for the family, pack lunches for school and work. Luckily, it all goes pretty smoothly thanks to some prep the night before.
My lovely part of the day is driving to the office. I get to enjoy the radio, catch up on what’s happening in the world, and hear some music.
Also, I’m a kind of person of talking to myself, may call it as self-affirmations. I feel like am talking to my soul. I do this while I’m cooking, cleaning, taking a shower, or during my drive. It’s my way of keeping myself feeling alive.
Quick Moments of my Interest
During my work hours, I use the short break time for small creative escapes. I might jot down my thoughts, doodle in sticky notes, read a page of my book or just take a short walk. It’s a kind of way to refresh and bring creativity into my workday.
For many of us, daily commuting can be bored. But I used to turn my driving time into a creative time. I use it for thinking, listening to creative audiobooks, or just reflecting. It transforms a boring part of the day into a creative space.
I used to read lot of book when I was travelling to office from my hometown via bus or train. One of my nostalgic memories. The books and train!
Conclusion: Creativity in the Everyday
Being creative in daily life doesn’t mean big thing. It’s about finding little moments in the everyday routine to be creative. These small creative moments add color to our lives. It spreads positivity to others. Creativity is a gift we can share with people around us.
